Songs on my soul: November

One of the reasons why I started this blog is simply to have a place to get things out – to talk about the thoughts and stories and sporadic happenings of life. They say ‘smell’ is the sense most closely associated with memory, but I have found that songs can capture the mood of a certain time in my life just as well. Once a month, I’ll be sharing the songs that I haven’t been able to stop listening to. Maybe someday I’ll be able to go back, listen to each unique little playlist and remember exactly how I was feeling during that specific month.

Guaranteed – Eddie Vedder (because Into the Wild kills my soul in all the best ways & is the most important movie of all time.)
Stolen Dance  – Milky Chance
Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran (will someone just marry me already so we can dance to this song at our wedding?)
Budapest – George Ezra
Sunshine – Matisyahu (because who doesn’t love feel good jams like this?)
True North – Eric Zayne
Cool Kids + Riptide (Acoustic Cover) – The Queen and King + Less Is More
Life Is Better With You – Michael Franti & Spearhead (UGH my poor little heart)
Take Me To Church – Hozier
EVERY SONG ON 1989 (but here’s Blank Space) – Taylor Swift

I gotta agree with you on this, a song can capture a moment, a feeling, a person, an emotion, sound is a very powerful thing. 🙂 I’m going to check out your songs when I get home. I love the Hozier song too, found a good remix on Souncloud I really like. 🙂

So many songs connect me with so many memories (good AND bad!). I hope you like them – like I said, I’ve been playing them on repeat!

Nice blog. I’ve often thought about revisiting albums from ‘my youth’ to see if 1) they hold up after all these years and 2) if they trigger any old memories. May have to do that now! 🙂
