in february, my cousin kelly and i set out on a secret road trip from dallas to philly. i was moving back home for a few months to be with family and friends for awhile before ~whatever’s next~ and kelly came along for part of the trip to keep me company. basically it was…
homeward bound: the incredible journey 2.0
but our incredible journey was not motivated by feelings of neglect and abandonment. our trip was really just a lot of fun.
I took a semi-similar road trip in January 2015 – where the things that were similar were that I was on the trip, I was driving the same car, and that two of the stops on the trip were the same (Philly and Dallas). Last year when I moved to Colorado, Allison and I drove from Philly to Nashville to Dallas to Santa Fe to Denver.
This time, I wanted to take a different route, because I wanted to see some new places, and driving through Arkansas was really boring. We mapped out our route:
Dallas, Texas > Louisiana > Mississippi > Alabama > Georgia > South Carolina > North Carolina > Virginia > West Virginia > Maryland > Philly, Pennsylvania
(With significant stops in:
Winston-Salem, North Carolina)
Kelly and I would experience Montgomery together, then I’d drop her off at the airport in Atlanta, and I’d be onward to North Carolina where I’d surprise & spend the night with my great pal & biggest blog supporter, Hannah and her husband.
The final morning of the trip, I’d be off for Pennsylvania, driving straight north through beautiful Virginia on Interstate-81.
